When it came time for primaries, the Right engaged in almost every kind of trashtalk imaginable. How do you defend against 2009′s Summer of Love-style campaigning by the Right?
The Right has been successful. They have won some very important Republican primaries.
But now they want “unity” in the party. Whose party? Now the Right wants the traditional Republicans that they trampled to either support their candidates or to just be quiet.
No. That doesn’t make sense.
Numerous TEA Partyers have referred to their efforts as being a hostile takeover of the Republican Party. Hostile. And you want unity? You want unity from the very RINOs that you have trashtalked for the last year.
No. ‘Hell no’ is what Republicans should tell the Right.
Back in 2009, when moderate Republican Dede Scozzafava was New York 23rd District’s Republican nominee, was there unity then? No. The Right launched an independent campaign to support Doug Hoffman as a Conservative Party candidate. Republicans ended up losing their ONLY House seat in New York.
Unity is more than a word that you occasionally mention. Unity is what you get when you give it.
